Glenfiddich Experimental Series

When it comes to whisky most of us recognise the three basic types; bourbon, malt and scotch. Well, Glenfiddich are setting out to change the game with the launch of ‘Experimental Series’ – a new range that pushes the boundaries of traditional whisky flavours to produce innovative and unusual blends.

Making something unique whilst still appealing to traditionalists is a serious task, but one that we believe they have achieved with delicious results.

Glenfiddich IPA Experiment

The first in the Experimental Series is the Glenfiddich IPA Experiment made through a collaboration with a local Speyside craft brewer. Aged in oak casks which previously held a bold Speyside IPA, the new single malt whisky holds tones of citrus and tangy hops.

Glenfiddich Project XX

Project XX is the second in the series, which saw Glenfiddich approach 20 whisky experts from across the world; asking each of them to create their own signature blend, which were then combined to create Project XX- a fruity blend, with sweet notes of liquorice and candy floss.

Both the Glenfiddich IPA Experiment and Project XX are now available from selected specialist whisky stores. We recommend trying them both (responsibly), it’s difficult to pick a favourite out of the two.
