St. Patrick’s Day: Beards

March 17th is St. Patrick’s Day – another Religious holiday turned into a celebration for the masses, and a (very good) reason for everyone to get drunk. The Gentlemen among us will see St. Patrick’s Day as an opportunity to take a day off and revert guilt free back to an Ape for 24hrs, and the Apes… well, let’s just say they will have no trouble getting acquainted with the Irish tradition. For us at Ape to Gentleman, St. Patrick’s Day gives us another reason to celebrate the beard in all its creative glory.

Here are some of the best we came across:

Now thats just showing off.

On a more serious note, 17th March represents the day on which Saint Patrick died in 461AD following which he was reportedly buried at Downpatrick. He converted royalty and aristocracy as well as the poor to Christianity and Irish folklore tells that one of his teaching methods included using the shamrock to explain the Holy Trinity (the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit) to the Irish people.

Enough of the history lesson, all that’s left to say is Happy St Patrick’s Day gentlemen (apes); try not to get too much Guinness stuck in your ‘soup filter’ aka moustache.
