The basis for this new fragrance, Emporio Armani Diamonds Black Carat, is the Emporio Armani autumn/winter 2011 catwalk. And in particular rhinestone collars and black satin. There are even words being banded around like fire, force and intelligence by Armani himself.

I was instantly drawn to the bottle which looks great and subsequently, the fragrance, designed by perfumer Jacques Cavallier which is equally good.

Black Carat Homme falls into a popular category for me; spicy and woody. With citrus-bergamot being mixed with Szechuan pepper, Cocoa beans and a small amount of Vetiver topped off with notes of Gaiac Wood and Cedar. The result is a pleasing, masculine and opulent scent.
