The Bremont Codebreaker

Founded in 2002 by two British brothers, Nick and Giles English, Bremont watches originated from the brothers joint lifetime love and passion for engineering and aviation – inherited from their engineering father and ex RAF pilot, Dr Euan English, a PHD student of Aeronautical Engineering from Cambridge.

Today our attention turns to the Bremont Codebreaker which has been created in conjunction with the Bletchley Park Trust. This timepiece is a historically and mechanically important Limited Edition watch. A percentage of the proceeds from the piece will go towards the ongoing restoration of Bletchley Park.

Bletchley Park played major role during British History. Around the time of WWII it was converted into a codebreaking factory and became the site of the UK’s main decryption establishment. This amazing history just shows how much work has gone into implementing this history into a watch.

Another great fact about Bletchley Park is that it is the birthplace of the computer. The first programmable electronic computer, Colossus was installed to speed up the reading of encrypted German messages. This is yet another piece of history which makes this location and timepiece even more so important.

Bremont has created 240 stainless steel and 50 rose gold versions of the Codebreaker.  The watch features a never seen before Flyback Chronograph GMT automatic movement.  The rotor has been designed to replicate the drum of the Bombe machine incorporating parts of an original German Enigma rotor. The particular functions involved include sweep hours, minutes, and sweep Flyback chronograph seconds. This is a timepiece that is set to indeed ‘sweep’ you off your feet.

The Bremont Codebreaker watch is available from Bremont.com now.
