Jaeger-LeCoultre Duometre

Jaeger-LeCoultre is one of the very few watchmaking companies who produce all of its movements in-house. The brand has mastered some of the toughest complications including the creation of the thinnest movement measuring only 1.38mm.

The company was found in 1833 by Antoine LeCoultre who had a desire to manufacture high quality mechanical timepieces. The brand offers a selection of differently designed watches including the unique Reverso range which features a reversible case.

Today I focus on the Duometre collection. A particular piece from the collection is the Jaeger-LeCoultre Duometre à Quantième Lunaire, which has dual wing calibre movement with two independent power reserves.

This piece is an actual vision of beauty with a number of elements used to construct such luxury. There are two independent power reserves on this piece, one for the exact measurement of the passing of time and the other for display of functions, hours, minutes, seconds, and calendar as well as moon phases for both hemispheres.

The open case back is definitely a part of what makes this timepiece. It always adds to a luxury watch experience to be able to view the movement of your watch. Every watch the brand makes is put through their 1000 hour control tests to be sure each piece is of the highest standard.

A variety of Jaeger-LeCoultre watches are available from The Watch Gallery.
