Oily Skin

Do I Have It…?

Does your skin look shiny – particularly on the T-Zone (forehead, nose and chin) and feel oily to the touch?

Does your skin appear to have large/open pores and is it prone to blackheads, whiteheads, spots and pimples (even Acne)?

Does your skin attract dust and dirt?

…If it does then you have Oily Skin.

What causes it?

Over production of sebum making the skin surface oily – despite the fact that men’s skin has smaller oil glands, men’s skin in general is oilier than women’s skin. This is due to the male hormone testosterone, which is responsible for the skin generating a higher amount of oil secretions.

How Can I stop it?

Use a facial cleanser twice daily, and a facial scrub 2/3 weekly. To reduce the appearance of open pores, use a clay mask (2/3 times monthly) to help absorb the excess oils. Finally, use an oil-free moituriser to leave skin matt in appearance.
