CREED are releasing Aventus, a new fragrance for men that, “honours traits of virility, power, strength and vision, inspired by Napoleon, the man who crowned himself emperor of France and all Europe, a self-made king who waged war, peace and love on terms he set.”

CREED Aventus gets its name from an ancient word meaning “success”.  Aventus debuts in America before all other countries, a CREED rarity.  Part of proceeds from U.S. sales of CREED Aventus will benefit American Rivers, protecting U.S. waterways from harm.  This choice was made as Aventus includes birch of Louisiana, an area Napoleon ruled, but today a focus of environmental concern.

CREED Aventus debuts in September at the CREED boutique at 794 Madison Avenue in Manhattan (1-877-CREED 44), at www.creedboutique.com, at Neiman Marcus and its website, Bergdorf Goodman and its website and the Saks Fifth Avenue New York City flagship store.

Characteristics: Made for the self-made king and named for success itself, Aventus is created by hand from ingredients from the life and rise of Napoleon.

Top Note: Blackcurrant from sunny Corsica, where Napoleon was born.  Bergamot from Italy, site of victories that made him famous.  Calville Blanc apples of France, where he rose to be emperor.  Royal pineapple, Napoleon’s favorite palace dessert.

Middle Note: Napoleon Roses.  Louisana birch, the wood of his throne.  Jasmine from Egypt, where his empire reached.  Exotic patchouli, valued for scent and health.

Base Note: Oak moss from Spain, which Napoleon conquered.  Ambergris from the seas, to show the strength of his navy.  Gourmand vanilla in the French style signals the touch of high living Napoleon enjoyed.
