Shiseido – Japanese male grooming brand Shiseido will begin selling on QVC this month as part of an effort to gain market share in the highly competitive U.K. market.

L’Oréal – The legal web involving Liliane Bettencourt (principal shareholder and heiress of beauty and male grooming giant L’Oréal) and French President Nicolas Sarkozy took another twist last week when Bettencourt’s former accountant told French Web site Mediapart in an interview that Bettencourt was involved in giving Eric Woerth, currently France’s labour minister but at the time chief of Sarkozy’s campaign, 150,000 euros in cash in spring 2007. The maximum funding allowed for a political party under French law is 7,500 euros per year.

L’Occitane – Strong performances in Japan, Hong Kong, the U.K., Brazil, China and Russia helped L’Occitane register a 13.9 percent sales increase in its fiscal year ended March 31.
