Remarkable imagery is important to everyone at Ape to Gentleman. We feel a picture tells a thousand words. So when Samsung got in touch with their ‘We are David Bailey‘ competition, where David Bailey’s (namesake of the famous photographer) were invited to capture images with an NX1000 camera – we couldn’t say no. Ape to Gentleman assisted Samsung in finding David Bailey’s to submit their image to wearedavidbailey.co.uk.

Samsung NX1000 by Ape to Gentleman.

The camera itself is technically just digital camera (as opposed to a heavyweight dSLR) but despite it’s compact and lightweight form being small enough to fit in ones bag, there’s nothing lightweight about it’s performance. Not only does it look sleek and stylish it also has a 21 megapixel sensor, built in Wi-Fi to share and save photos wirelessly and the ability to record video in 1080 30p Full HD clarity with stereo sound. It has all the usual hallmarks of a digital camera too such as image stabilisation and auto focusing but also dSLR-like control of the exposure and white balance, and an interchangeable lens.

We tested it against the iPhone 5 camera which it crushed and it pretty much matched our (expensive) dSLR.

If you’re looking for a highly capable camera to capture quality imagery with, the Samsung NX1000 is a smart choice. dSLR-like quality less the price tag and weight. Take a look at 3 of our favourite photos below from the We are David Bailey contest.
