Heritage meets modernity: Wooyoungmi X Alfred Sargent

The fusion of culture can be a fascinating one, the ability to merge strengths and adapt to weaknesses can provide the most desired of produce. Utilising this to maximum effect is the South Korean based house, Wooyoungmi, who have enlisted the expertise of English shoe maker Alfred Sargent to create their shoes for Autumn/Winter ’12 collection.

Housing the characteristics of modernity, the shoes merge flair and distinction while staying grounded to the tradition that is synonymous with Sargent’s label. Featuring two styles – the long-wing brogue and wing-tip brogue boot – each with a distinctive (and optional) fringe detail.

Of note is the use of fabrication within the boot, combining the finest grain leather with Harris tweed, offering a somewhat cultured exploration of both brands philosophy.
