Objects of Desire from Degree Art

Entering the final week before Christmas no doubt some of us are still looking for that elusive gift for a loved one, or perhaps, are just simply still looking for an excuse to pick up an extra something for our own hoard. Well, we have been working hard!

For those with a desire to be the next Charles Saatchi help is at hand in the form of Degree Art, a London-based company founded in 2003 specialising in the commissioning, selling, and rental of graduate artwork. Working out of their gallery on Vyner Street, the company provides accessibly priced original artwork to anyone who values individualism.

Their online store offers a wide selection of works for sale and is broken down by recipient and price bracket for easy navigation. Of the additions from their recent ‘Objects of Desire’ exhibition Louise McNaught’s stag and eagle cufflinks caught our eyes. Limited to just 50 pairs, these silver chrome cufflinks house a scaled down print of one of McNaught’s larger works set in resin. For art loving gentleman, a pair would make the perfect addition to a classic white shirt. The print can also be purchased in a tiepin for the button cuff wearers amongst us.

With a wide variety of mediums available finding the perfect gift shouldn’t be hard, though we have a feeling that many of us will tick the ‘Treat Myself’ box. For anyone interested in obtaining some art for his home or office, now’s the perfect opportunity to do so.
