Private White VC

Private White is a clothing manufacturer with a history like no other. The company itself is named after Private Jack White who received the Victoria Cross in 1917 for his commitment during World War I. After returning from the war he worked his way from an apprentice pattern cutter to eventually the owner of a local Manchester clothing factory. Unfortunately Jack White passed away at the age of 52 but his legacy and story still lives on.

That same factory is now run by his great-grandchildren producing some of the best clothing on the market today. This includes the Twin Track jacket (above), which brings a new meaning to a four seasons jacket. The jacket has a detachable front panel that allows it to be worn with heavy knitwear during the winter seasons. For the summer months, simply remove the front panel and wear with slimmer clothing for a more tailored fit.

The jacket itself is made from a waxed cotton produced by British Millerain, a company founded in 1880 that is now the premier manufacturer of this fabric. The collar is made from a soft nappa leather that will age beautifully.
