The Open Championship
First played on 17 October 1860 at Prestwick Golf Club in Scotland, the Open Championship returns this month to Scotland. The 2015 Open is scheduled for 16–19 July on the Old Course at St Andrews in Scotland.
Louis Oosthuizen was the most recent winner at St Andrews in 2010 where he claimed a seven shot win over Lee Westwood in second place. The Course is also home to the victory of Tiger Woods in both 2000 and 2005.
This year will be the 144th Open Championship. In which the world’s greatest golfers will gather to battle for the infamous Claret Jug, current champion is Rory McIlroy, who won the 143rd Open in England in 2014.
