Orlebar Brown x Marcello Morandini

Sophisticated swimwear label Orlebar Brown continue their experimentations with print in a new season of products created in collaboration with Italian multi-disciplinary designer, Marcello Morandini.

Applying his monochromatic design philosophy to a variety of projects including architecture, objects, sculpture and now clothing, Morandini’s precise designs explore the representation of movement through their geometric forms. For the collection Orlebar Brown have adapted and applied these designs in an exclusive range of Bulldog and Setter swim shorts and short and long-sleeve t-shirts, though we have to say it’s the modernist swim shorts that really catch our eye.

To expand the collaboration further Orlebar Brown have launched the Marcello Morandini app on their website, which allows visitors to manipulate the swim short designs, altering the angle, size and perspective of a chosen pattern. The finished edited print can then be laser cut onto a keyring in a classic OB swim short shape by Maker’s Café, complete with a monogram of the designer’s name on the reverse to ensure a truly personalised finish. The keyring may then be collected from any of the five Orlebar Brown stores in London a few days later.

Already known for their striking print and photographic swim short designs, Orlebar Brown have once again produced a collection that combines a unique independent spirit with their high-end luxury swimwear. With Morandini’s striking work the brand now explore a new source of inspiration that is sure to be a favourite amongst design savvy swimmers out there.
