Saint Luke

With summer closing in on spring, an introduction to Saint Luke luggage in the Ape to Gentleman inbox was a timely, and pleasant arrival. The luxury ethical travel brand focuses on holdalls featuring bright colours and vibrant prints- ideal for beach-going gentleman. Inspired by travel, culture and people, their eye catching bags manage to expertly capture that holiday spirit.

Saint Luke was conceived during a sailing trip around the Caribbean’s British Virgin Islands, where after bearing witness to dull, flimsy and overcomplicated bags, they decided to create something not just simple and robust, but something colourful- capturing the essence of a holiday.

“Saint Luke is about enjoying what the world has to offer, and letting go on holidays with friends”, says Saint Luke’s Tessa Holladay, who encourages people to leave a bit of sand in the bottom of their bags- to remind them of the places they’ve been.

Saint Luke is predominantly male-centric but as you can see, with a unisex appeal. They are the antithesis of black wheelie bags (which we aren’t knocking, they have their place too) and genuinely something to get you in the holiday spirit from the moment you pull the bag out from the wardrobe.

Colour-ways are inspired by places from all over the world, inclduing a remote rum shack in the Caribbean, to the eclectic favelas of Brazil, allowing you to tone it up, or up up. We opted for the Limited Edition Tortola – Short Haul at £125, a mix of bright blue and white with a pineapple print inner, images in the gallery above and details below. It’s a really well made offering, and a great size for all your beach wares- it will be packed inside the Ape to Gentleman black wheelie bag this summer, and revealed beachside ASAP.
