Joseph Cheaney & Sons are offering their customers a unique shopping experience. ‘1 of 1’ offers the chance to design your own pair of handcrafted Cheaney shoes made specifically for you by skilled craftsmen.
This innovative experience is available exclusively from their Jermyn St. flagship store, where customers can phone or drop by to book an appointment to start the process. They will then be assisted by one of Cheaneys expert staff throughout their ‘1 of 1’ customisation service.
First things first, customers are measured and fitted before being offered the choice of 5 different styles of shoe. They are then invited to browse through a colourful collection of fine calf leathers; from bronze expresso to aubergine; before deciding which lining you would prefer for your shoes.
Other decisions include selecting the colour for the sole, as well as choosing a metallic embossing for the sock and sole foils. The final stage of personalisation involves handwriting the customer’s name into an oval stitched window in each of the shoes lining.
After the customisation process is complete, the order is then sent to Cheaneys factory in Desborough where they have been making shoes since 1886. The finished shoes are then packed in a specially branded ‘1 of 1’ box with a pair of hand-stained cedar wood shoetrees as well as a shoe care kit; equipped with brushes, cloths and polish.
