Bollinger La Grande Année 2007 Champagne

For Bollinger, the 2007 vintage was an exceptional and atypical year; atypical because their harvest began in August, and exceptional because, during the first barrel tastings in November, they discovered wines of a rare quality.

For La Grande Année 2007, the blend is composed of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay, blended and cellared in 2008, disgorged by hand in 2016, and finally released onto the market this year.

The result is a vintage displaying all the key elements of the Bollinger style: aromas of fresh, ripe and cooked fruits, a rich, aromatic fullness, and a note of bitterness for a wonderfully refreshing finish.

“As with every vintage at Bollinger, La Grande Année 2007 is 100% vinified in barrels, using only Grands and Premiers crus Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, and with exclusive use of the ‘cuvée’, meaning the very best juice coming from the Champagne presses.” – Gilles Descôtes, Bollinger Chef de Cave

The perfect drink to serve with a fine meal such as grilled fish, lobster or roast lamb, champagne enthusiasts will find that La Grande Année 2007 is best served at between 8 and 10°C to enjoy right away, or to continue ageing in a cellar.

Having made it’s screen debut in James Bond’s Casino Royale, La Grande Année is a champagne with true class.
