Aesop’s story began in 1987, when the company launched in Melbourne, and since then Aesop has not wavered from its intention. The Australian skincare brand recently opened a store on the ground floor of the Asada building in Minami-Aoyama (Tokyo). The store is a reflection of the care and attention to detail that saw Aesop create a range of superlative products for skin, hair and body.
Aesop’s director Dennis Paphitis worked with architect Jo Nagasaka to rework the existing space re-using wooden boards and beams from an abandoned house – the Murazawa residence.

The Aesop store pays homage to Japan’s long-established tradition of fusing modern technology with traditional materials.
