Thanksgiving, for gifting? It seems wrong to set a day aside for something we should be doing everyday, but much like Valentine’s Day, Mother’s and Father’s Day, setting a date in the calendar aside for Thanksgiving, not only gives us time to honour the event, but is an acknowledgement of its significance. Modern times are truly hectic times, with the ‘destructive’ innovation called the internet and mobile phones combined; dominating proceedings and ensuring that we are entirely (and somewhat willingly) contactable at all times. It’s all too easy to forget and far too difficult to reflect on the important things in life; our accomplishments, our failures, our surroundings, our family.
Thanksgiving Day is just that, time to reflect; an ‘excuse’ for families to get together and remember what makes them family. Originally Thanksgiving was a time to give thanks for the harvest, today it’s more about gratitude in general. I’m thankful for many things, too numerous (and boring) to list here, but seeing as we are a male grooming blog, here’s some skin related gratitude; I’m thankful despite my inherent laziness, I have fairly clear skin, and when it isn’t so clear, there are products to do something about it. What are you thankful for?
