The Ape Want List: November 2019

The Want List is our monthly edit, showcasing the best new garments, grooming gear, gadgets and beyond. A tightly-curated collection, handpicked by the Ape team, it’s your go-to resource for staying stylish, seasonally relevant and up to speed on the latest releases, no matter if it’s the peak of summer or the darkest depths of winter.

With the cold nights setting in and Christmas looming on the horizon, it’s time to get serious about refreshing that wardrobe, replenishing grooming supplies and perhaps even treating yourself to a pre-winter splurge or two to make the gloomy weather a little more bearable. From flash new wheels to the latest tech, these are the goods we’ve got our eyes on in November.

Begg & Co. Cashmere Roll-Neck

The master weavers at heritage Scottish label Begg & Co. have been making some of the finest scarves known to man for well over 150 years. October 2019, however, marked their first foray into full-blown cashmere knitwear and let us tell you, it’s pretty special. The collection is comprised of three different silhouettes – shawl collar, roll neck and crew neck – in an assortment of tastefully selected colour options, but it’s the form-flattering, winter-ready roll necks that really caught our eye.

Novesta Marathon Trail

Granted, there are certainly more advanced running shoes on the market today than Novesta’s Marathon Trail. Are there any better-looking ones, though? Well, we’d have to say no. These retro runners have just arrived in a bevy of new colourways to tackle the autumn with, from earthy browns to zesty yellows.

Arriving just in time for winter, Notorious Oud by D.S. & Durga is a seasonally-appropriate unisex fragrance that won’t leave you high and dry when the cold begins to bite. The Macallan No. 5

Throwing a coat on is the traditional way to warm up when the weather is cold, but a nice single-malt will certainly do the trick, too. The No.5 pays homage to The Macallan’s natural colour. Fresh and sweet with a long, sweet finish, this exceptional whisky is shaped from its time spent in the very best casks. A celebration of the brand’s long-running commitment to colour and flavour.

With 1160bhp, this thing is as powerful as it is futuristic, and while the roughly £3m price tag may count the vast majority of us out, there’s no denying it’s a serious piece of kit.
