ASKET Introduces The “Only Outerwear You Will Ever Need”

Menswear brand ASKET, founded during 2015 in Stockholm by August Bard Bringéus and Jakob Dworsky, boasts a strong ethos: to do away with seasonal collections (that only fuel a cycle of fast-consumption habits), and instead provide a single permanent collection of mindfully produced, quality and timeless garments that are designed to last. Effectively putting an end to over-consumption. You’ll also find, when following this ethos, that you buy less and only items you’ll actually wear.

ASKET has grown rapidly, becoming one Ape’s go-to direct-to-consumer brands in the menswear space. I have a pair of chinos and an Oxford shirt from the brand – which both, stylistically and in terms of quality, are first class. So naturally we were delighted to hear of the Scandi brand’s recent foray into outerwear.

Covered throughout every season

You’ll be aware that outerwear contains garments that feature year round – be it a heavy winter coat, or a lightweight summer jacket. But no one piece or collection works together or in tandem. Enter ASKET. The premise is a line-up of just three essential pieces that work individually or together, ensuring you’re covered throughout every season.

Covered from -15°C to 15°C

Marrying form and function, ASKET’s modern take on the classic Car Coat (£225 or $305), Zip Jacket (£235 or $315) and Zip Vest (£170 or $235) combine expert tailoring with high-quality materials. Each can be worn independently of the others or layered together. The result is a curated selection of functional outerwear that will have you covered from -15°C to 15°C.

Attention to Detail

Each of the three new garments is crafted with 100% organic cotton shell fabric with Fluoro-free water-repellent treatment. You’ll also fine low-impact trims, including natural Corozo buttons, recycled metal snappers and recycled sewing-thread.

Made to Perform

The Zip Jacket and Zip Vest are fitted with 100% recycled post-consumer polyester insulation from Primaloft. The insulating material is water resistant, breathable, lightweight and outperforms the heat-to-weight-ratio of down. In other words, all the cold weather performance without a bulky layer. The Zip Jacket and the Zip Vest also feature easy snap buttons on neck and the sleeves to fit neatly inside the Car Coat.
