Baxter Finley Barber & Shop is the latest project from Baxter of California President, J.P. Mastey, who named the shop after the brand’s original founder. The interior is like entering a time warp, featuring classic details like the impeccably restored Koken White King chairs from the 1900s, reclaimed Douglas Fir flooring, and oak/marble back bars.

Ignoring the modern trend of expanding the offering to include a variety of male grooming services, Baxter Finley instead takes things down a notch with a focus on quality haircuts and skilled barbering techniques – the way things used to be. The Barbers at Baxter Finley will wear custom made gingham check pull-over shirts tailor made for the shop by Steven Alan.

Baxter President, J.P Mastey said. “We see guys trending to tradition. Whether we are talking fashion, or choice of barber, guys are looking for simple and traditional surroundings. Our shop will not be a lounge, or place to get spa services. We want to keep it simple and build a reputation for excellence in barbering and service.”

In addition to the barbering services, Baxter Finley will stock the Baxter of California grooming products and shaving tools, as well as products from retaW (Japan), Dr. Bronners, D.R. Harris, Marvis tooth paste among others.

The Barber shop opened on May 1st 2010, and is due a spectacular grand opening in June.
