A year since Ape to Gentleman covered the New York launch of Eau de Lacoste L.12.12; the iconic French brand’s first ever collection of male fragrances, they have released Rouge. Described as an energetic addition to the range, the fresh and spicy fragrance is again inspired by the Lacoste L.12.12 polo shirt.
The fragrance itself is a triple blend of spices – ginger, black pepper and cardamom and consists of:
- When first sprayed, there are fresh iced red tea, spicy mandarin and mango notes.
- The heart releases a spicy cocktail of Madagascan black pepper, Indian ginger and Guatemalan cardamom, creating a pleasant contrast.
- The dry-down is a woody creation sustained through acacia wood accompanied by golden Laos benzoin and labdanum.
Lacoste tell us they chose the colour red for its’ intensity, symbolising confidence and courage in its wearer. Red is also the most dynamic and energetic shade in the colour spectrum. In summary, Lacoste L.12.12 Rouge is a masculine and spicy fragrance, an energetic offering for the summer and a welcome edition to the L.12.12 collection.
