New to the world of men’s fragrance this month is the woody Gucci Guilty Absolute scent- a collaboration between creative director Alessandro Michele and maître parfumeur Alberto Morillas. A focus on leather as the hero ingredient, included as an homage to the signature Gucci material; while the flacon is inspired by a refined lounge; think sensorial textures and colours of cigars and cognac.
As before, Gucci Guilty Absolute was created with two leading notes, custom-mixing a Leather accord Woodleather and a rare type of a common perfumery note, Goldenwood, a new natural extract of the Nootka Cypress. The resulting scent features ultra-dry woody notes with good depth and complexity. Also included are three forms of Patchouli oils with a sweet, dark and earthy character, and Vetiver, the fresh and earthy grass from woods.
A flask-like affair similar to the best-selling Gucci Guilty fragrance but in a rich cognac-hued scent and finished with a shiny black cap. The outer carton is tobacco military-coloured and features black interlocking Gs.
