Men’s fragrance launches in 2011 thus far have been a timid affair, however it turns out that it was just the calm before the storm. In what is set to be one of the most expansive fragrance promotions in history, Gucci have announced the release of Gucci Guilty Pour Homme – the male counterpart to the bestselling Gucci Guilty perfume, which was unveiled last year. Gucci Guilty Pour Homme will debut first in Germany and Italy and is expected to rollout to about 20,000 doors worldwide in the run-up to Father’s Day.
The campaign that will utilise all digital media, including 3D television, will be fronted by actor Chris Evans (currently Filming Captain America) and Evan Rachel Wood who starred in Miller’s original Guilty adverts.
“We wanted something uncompromisingly masculine but at the same time linking the initial female proposition,” said Feola.
The fragrance is set to be a fresh citrus affair, with Top notes of Lemon and Lavender, complemented with Heart notes of Orange Blossom. The Base notes are comprised of Patchouli and Cedre. The Guilty Pour Homme bottle, also designed by Giannini, shares some design features of its female equivalent, such as the laser-cut interlocking G’s – emblematic of Guccio Gucci’s original logo.
