Further to our Scratch+Sniff introduction we are pleased to inform of their next event; Rakes to Rambo, where there will be lots of sampling of fragrances, classic and new. Really, only the last century saw the entry of male specific fragrances. Until then men would wear the same scents as women; more floral offerings. Rakes to Rambo will journey through some archetypal male cultures and perfumes. Starting with pomandered 18th century Fopps whose fluid identity was revived by the New Romantics in the 1980s, through to the Victorian Gentleman, the Matinee Idol, the City Gent, the 80′s Hunk through to the diversity of the present day.

If you’re interested in identity, sexuality and expression and learning you’re at the right place gents. Your guide for the evening will be James Craven, perfume archivist of independent perfumery Les Senteurs.

As a sneak preview, this is one of the perfume adverts they’ll be showing at the event. Unbelievable, yet glorious…
