Double Monk Straps have become increasingly popular along with growing interest in the Italian style of relaxed tailoring. It is a shoe that is incredibly versatile, looking equally good with a suit as with a pair of jeans at the weekend. With this in mind we take a look at our Three of the Best.
John Lobb – William
John Lobb has been producing bespoke shoes in London since 1866 and later in Paris since 1902. In 1982 John Lobb released their first ready to wear collection, and subsequently in 1994 opened a factory in the footwear capital, Northampton. Today John Lobb’s ready to wear collection is known to be arguably the best of its kind in the world. Below, the William is their iconic double monk strap with a handsewn toe cap and Goodyear welted construction.
Paraboot – Vigny
Paraboot is a French brand known for its almost indestructible sole unit, made with Latex taken from the Hevea rubber tree. Their double monk, the Vigny, is crafted in France using the Norwegian construction, a construction which is highly durable and adds the advantage of your shoe being waterproof.
Oliver Sweeney – Teulada
