I’ve been looking at this Banksy piece on my desktop for the last nine months or so, but never has it seemed so apt. The latest news suggests that after 13 years, the UK is set for a change in the powers that be.

Will it be Gordon Brown‘s Labour Party, David Cameron‘s Conservatives or Nick Clegg‘s Liberal Democrats? We soon shall see, but I can’t help but think that Banksy summed up the election perfectly in his image.

Regardless of the outcome of the elections, all is not lost; while we can’t always rely on our Government, we can rely on one shining light – the English Gentleman.

By the by, if the English race had done nothing else, yet if they left the world the notion of a Gentleman, they would have done a great service to mankind
Gerard Manly Hopkins (1844-1889)
