Thom Sweeney AW16

Thom Whiddett and Luke Sweeney the Savile Row apprentices turned founders of Thom Sweeney in 2007 have released their Autumn/ Winter 2016 Collection- and it’s magnificent.

Fine tailoring with British panache and Italian flair has led to construction expertise, individuality and a contemporary feel across the Thom Sweeney offering, and their AW16 Collection is no different.

With a focus on fine fabric, Thom Sweeney include a Winter Seersucker; a unique wool blend heavier in weight than its summer offering but sharing the same seersucker properties with a softer shoulder. There is flannel in grey chalk stripe and Prince of Wales check, needle corduroy green cashmere and a British Holland & Sherry tweed suit with pleated trouser.

Deconstructed double-breasted jackets in wool cashmere are worn with utility vests in tweed, whilst heavy cotton in a rugged twill reveals Thom Sweeney’s first tailored denim trouser.

Classic shirting is modernised with softer collar shapes or grandad collars in light weight denim, flannel and brushed cotton. Chunky cable knits and lightweight merino wools bring quality layering options.

A piece of note is their tailored Pea Coat- Made in England using a Loro Piana wool cashmere blend with a fitted silhouette for a refined, slim finish. A cashmere double-breasted overcoat and down-filled gilet also feature.

Strong earthy tones have been muted to ease wearability including camel, brown and green with a hint of navy and grey.

To complete the collection, Thom Sweeney’s evening-wear celebrates the tuxedo with a navy peak lapel and two-tone slim fit in wool.

Probably one of the best collections you’re going to see for this Autumn/ Winter 2016- Thom Sweeney win again.
