Created by Mckenzie Santiago and Alfredo Ortiz, Brooklyn Grooming is focused on how you present yourself to the world. The brand caught our eye for numerous reasons: it’s classic products with a modern touch, and organic, all-natural products in packaging such as amber tinctures and metal tins.
The premise is routine, taking care of oneself – enjoying the process of men’s grooming. This of course is easier when products work, and have a function. Brooklyn Grooming create products ranging from hair treatments to skin care, all of which are handmade in Brooklyn, New York, and contain only natural ingredients: rosemary, avocado oil, jojoba oil, and vegetable butters for example.
Ranges and products are inspired by Brooklyn and it’s diverse neighbourhoods: Williamsburg, Fort Greene, and Red Hook. Categories such as Beard Care are well catered for, with an array of solutions – our favourites were the Anchor Aftershave Tonic ($42) and Pilgrim’s Classic Hair (and Beard) Tonic ($29). Other products include: facial serums, aftershave tonic, shaving soap and tattoo balm – many of which are available in a variety of scents.
In summary, Santiago and Ortiz have created a good, solid brand here – with a range of useful accessory products. Brooklyn Grooming caters for the modern man, who appreciates classic grooming rituals.
