Founded in 2004 in New York, Joya who produce some of the most innovative fragranced goods we have found from their atelier in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn have collaborated with renowned fashion brand izzue (I.T Group). Joya has previously collaborated with Opening Ceremony, Escada, Baxter of California and Blind Barber, among others.
The Joya x izzue Home Scent Collections collaboration came about over coffee at Les Deux Magots in Paris. Resulting in: “izzue in Paris Special Edition” with a black wax candle and room spray featuring reflective printing, “izzue x Joya” with black wax candle and room spray in packaging evocative of an urban street scene, and “izzue Army Line x Joya” with a room spray and a custom green porcelain candle cast by artist Sarah Cihat from a battered, antique canteen marked 1918. The “Army Line” is a continuation of Joya’s 2011 Army Candle Project, which re-purposed British officer soap containers from WW2.
Candles are a blend of soy, vegetable oil and beeswax. The room spray doubles as a clothing, linen or upholstery spray. Two fragrances are available: Neotropics (with notes of water lily, frangipani, pine, marjoram, sea kelp, sweet musk and a “fresh cut grass” accord) and “Phantom Patchouli” (with notes of bergamot, blood orange, cedarwood, geranium, jasmine, tonka bean and patchouli).
Candles and room sprays will retail for HK$299 each. The “izzue in Paris Special Edition” box set will retail for HK$559, and the “izzue Army Line x Joya” box set will retail for HK$699. All items and sets will be available at I.T locations in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Macau and Taiwan.
