Jura x Trakke Bag
Trakke, the Glasgow based makers of bags and kit for ‘everyday adventurers’ have joined forces with Jura Single Malt Whisky to create a limited edition bag, inspired by the whisky and its island home.
The Trakke design team, famed for their durable, versatile and timeless designs created with materials and components that are time-tested and reliable, travelled to Jura- the island nestled off the West Coast of Scotland for inspiration.
The colour of Jura Whisky is the influence of the smoky waxed cotton, similar in hue to the natural lichen that grows on the island’s untamed West Coast, while deer hide zip detailing denotes the island’s 5,000 strong population of wild deer.
From the distillery on the island’s East Coast, copper rivets represent the tall copper stills, which give Jura its distinctive taste. Taking on the shape of a barley sack, the Jura x Trakke bag is 20 litres in volume; the approximate amount of ‘Angel’s Share’- the liquid which evaporates during maturation- lost from a cask of Jura each year.
Like all Trakke products, each limited edition Jura bag will be handmade in their Glasgow studio using British made materials. Just 130 bags will be available worldwide and available to buy from www.trakke.co.uk now, priced £180.
