Showcasing a balance between city lifestyle and mountain heritage, the collection showcases Mastermind’s signature style, colours and camouflage patterns, used to reimagine The North Face’s own pieces, including the Nuptse, Mountain and Denali Jackets (featuring GORE-TEX and DRYVENT technologies) — as well as sportswear, footwear and bags.

Constructed with waterproof, thermal and quick-dry qualities, the collection is a combination of the famous functionality of The North Face and the signature cool aesthetics of Mastermind.

The collection comes as part of The North Face’s Urban Exploration project, which seeks to balance utility with fashion in order to deliver outdoor-inspired clothing translated for a city environment, providing a combination of form and function, designed for urban explorers to wear from the summits of mountains to the streets of the city.

Founded in 1997, Mastermind Japan is recognisable by its skull and crossbones emblem. Mastermind, a newly launched diffusion line of this brand, is the platform for clothing designer Masaaki Homma to launch his collections globally.

Since then, the brand has become known for shaping a minimalist style of bold and dark clothing. Today, the brand is known for its season-less streetwear collections and high profile collaborations.
