Shackleton – Autumn/Winter 2017 Polar Collection
British luxury adventure brand Shackleton has launched its Autumn/Winter 2017 Polar Collection.
British owned and supported by Hon. Alexandra Shackleton, granddaughter of Sir Ernest, the brand produces performance outerwear and knitwear with the belief that the best clothing should look distinctive and classic, rather than generic and functional.
The Polar collection showcases Shackleton’s first full climatic collection, which includes modern high-tech fabrics as well as traditional materials like Merino, Lambswool, and cotton.
Some of the collection’s most notable pieces include the Endurance jacket, designed and hand-made by survival specialists for polar work using the best technical fabrics available, with its extreme lightweight construction made possible due to it being made with the world’s highest quality pure European goose down.
The Discovery Jacket, constructed in a similar way to the Endurance but carrying a rugged Ventile shell layer, makes it suitable for all weather conditions. The Lupoid down shirt is an incredibly light and versatile layer that will keep its wearer warm at zero degrees yet reduce to the size of a tennis ball.
Other key pieces in the collection include the Polar Classics – heavy knit sweaters made from lamb’s wool – fine gauge merino sweaters, layers and accessories.
All Shackleton products are British designed, British made and tested in Antarctica by members of the Shackleton Pioneer Programme, including adventurer and brand ambassador Aldo Kane.
