Every now and again we come across a niche product that we think should be more popular, especially among men. Concrete Parfum (Solid Perfume) is one of those very products. Imagine being able to transport your favourite scent in a solid sleek format, a product that would allow you to top up your smell at will and on the move with the discretion of a lip balm. That’s not to say that atomisers aren’t discreet, but if you’ve ever walked into a room just after some one has sprayed, you know they’ve sprayed. Concrete parfum allows you to fragrance yourself with Bond-like discretion.
The Concrete Parfum in question is a collaboration between Anthropologie and Le Labo, the cult New York fragrance house.
The collection consits of five scents remeniscent of the time when artisans crafted small batches using the highest quality natural ingredients.
Chant De Bois: a spicy scent with a feminine-woodsy combination of bergamot, grapefruit, pink pepper, patchouli and cedar.
Belle Du Soir: spicy, musky and rich. Neroli, water lily and gardenia float above notes of cedar, sandalwood and patchouli.
Orange Discrete: a clean fruity blend of petigrain, bergamot, mandarin zest and orange blossom mixed with vetiver, cedar and musk.
Poudre D’Orient: fresh exotic aromas of violet leaves, patchouli, vanilla and suede musk.
Bouquet Blanc: a decadent floral composition of cassis, bergamot, jasmine, tuberose and vetiver.
How to use Solid perfume:
The solid perfume can be used much like you would a pot of lip balm; simply run your finger gently on the fragrance’s surface to warm and soften. Then apply to the pulse points (i.e. the wrist, behind the ear, crease of the arm and knee, base of the throat) as you would a normal fragrance. Maybe avoid using on the face (behind the ear) if you have sensitive skin.
I can see there being a time when you’ll be able to buy all of your fragrance favourites in a portable, solid format. Remember, you heard it here first.
