Fashion designer, photographer and film maker Gosha Rubchinskiy, creator of his own post-Soviet youth style brand, had collaborated with fragrance house Comme des Garçons for his first fragrance. Since its creation in 1993, Comme des Garçons Parfum have gained fame for creating unique scents- some described as anti-perfumes. Today some 75 scents exist, many as collaborations with artists, cultural icons and institutions such as the Serpentine Gallery, musician Pharrell Williams and now Gosha Rubchinskiy.
Launching October, 2017- the Gosha Rubchinskiy fragrance, created by perfumer Alexis Dadier, is fresh, urban and will be visually translated through Gosha’s new photography book, the Perfume Book. The concept is inspired by skateboarding on a summer day, wheels burning on the hot concrete sidewalks and the smells of rubber and tar to create a scent of youth and freedom. Packaged in a deep-red box and classic rounded bottle designed as an homage to historic Russian perfumes. The fragrance is finished with a wooden cap inspired by the raw materials of skateboards.
