Darkness is no match for Glashütte Original

As the nights become their longest and the weather its most challenging, we must brave the Winter climate and face the harshest conditions the season has to offer with readiness, composure and reliability.

The same qualities characterise the Senator Chronograph Panorama Date from Glashütte Original, a striking, robust and style-conscious timepiece. Developed for everyday use and maximum functionality, it is based on the integrated Calibre 37 chronograph movement.

With this new addition, Glashütte Original add a third version to the platinum and red gold Senator line. The new model provides added impulse with its stainless steel contemporary design.

At the darkest time of the year, luminous blue Super-LumiNova on the white-gold hour, minute and stop seconds hands, the Roman numerals at 6 and 12 o’clock, and on the hour indexes, all indicators on the Senator Chronograph Panorama Date are given optimal legibility. The blue glow of the highlights will last all night if they have first been exposed to intense artificial or natural light.

By day, the polished hands and numerous white details of the watch contrast with the deep black dial, exhibiting symmetry n the form of 30-minute and 12-hour counters and a small seconds dial. The three chronograph displays are also enhanced by the power reserve indicator positioned within the small seconds.

The chronograph overall has a distinctly sporty look, with new hour indexes replacing its predecessor’s Roman numerals at all but 6 and 12 hours, a 42 mm stainless steel case, and of course the use of luminous blue highlighting.

This look is also presented in the selection of straps. The stitching on the black calfskin strap works in tandem with the dial’s blue highlights, while the black rubber strap is enhanced by a laser-cut relief pattern. The stainless steel bracelet features an adjustment mechanism with eight settings, while a double security mechanism prevents it from opening by chance.

With a power reserve of 70 hours when fully wound and an eye-catching appearance, the watch is a showcase of German engineering – precise yet reliable, and complex yet stylish.
