Hair Transplant Review

Day 365 or 12 months – FINAL RESULT!

I’m now 12 months post-op, which is really the final result. Hair can thicken and grow further for up to 18 months I’m told. I’m happy with the results have subsequently met Dr Alexander in London. My hairline is magnificent, arguably better than it was originally! I have to say, that from other hair transplants I’ve seen on the internet, a natural looking hairline is where Dr Alexander’s unique abilities really tell.

Both I and Dr Alexander agreed that where my ‘new’ hair was implanted it could be thicker. However, this is really down to personal preference. Do you want a seriously thick, as original hair line or do you want to get good coverage and a medium to full coverage. Obviously the former, but it’s a case of hair management. If in 5 years time I need another hair transplant (remember, I’m not taking Propecia) in other areas then I’ll need more donor hair. If we used all the hair in the first transplant then I’d have none left. This is is named ‘donor management’ – and a good surgeon won’t overuse hair despite your demands, for this is a long term strategy. Be sensible, it’s a case of supply and demand.

Ultimately, I have to deem my hair transplant a complete success. I have a hair line and and my entire scalp is covered with hair. Beyond that, I have good medium to full coverage in the transplanted areas, a superbly natural looking hairline and a truly sensible amount of donor hair left in the back should I need another hair transplant further down the line. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Dr Alexander for this opportunity – firstly, for doing the right thing for my hair in terms of end result and donor management, and secondly for being a genuinely nice human being. He’s concerned entirely with your best interests only – I can vouch for that. If you’re in the UK, he’s certainly worth a trip to Phoenix for, or get in touch with him directly to see when he’s next in London for a consultation. If you’re based in the US, it’s a no brainer, he’s the surgeon to see.
