NOMOS Glashütte – At Work Watch Series
German watchmakers NOMOS Glashütte have released their At Work series, comprised of four watch models in a larger size and three colours.
Each of the four watches, the Tangente, Metro, Orion, and Tetra, are extremely slender and underline the wearer’s competence, not only when it comes to choosing watches, but also in their professional attitude to life.
The 39-millimeter diameter of the case is designed to fit well under a shirt cuff, and look good in an office with a more casual dress code as well.
The standout watch from the collection is the Metro, which has a new ‘silvercut’ dial. The particular shade of cool grey that this model comes in is achieved through a nine-step process: the gold- and rhodium-plated dial blank is lacquered and wet-blasted numerous times, before the thousandth of a millimetre is removed again and the dial is trimmed flat. The dial also features flashes of colour in the form of red dots for hour markers at three, nine, and twelve o’clock.
Alongside the ‘silvercut’ versions, all models in the new series are also available with NOMOS’ classic white silver-plated and midnight blue dials.
Founded in January 1990, two months after the fall of the Berlin Wall, NOMOS Glashütte takes part of it’s name from it’s home in the town of Glashütte, Saxony, and specialises in manual-winding and automatic mechanical watches.
The brand soon became known for their for the clean and modernist aesthetic presented throughout their designs, and this theme is continued in their new At Work series.
