Do you really need a smart toothbrush?
In partnership with Philips
After a recent trip to the dentist, and albeit a clean bill of oral health, I was given the advice that more could be done. I use a manual toothbrush twice a day, floss each evening and rinse with mouthwash but the chance to upgrade to an electric toothbrush with the Philips DiamondClean Smart Toothbrush couldn’t have been more timely and welcome.
You take care of your body- exercising and eating healthy, look after your skin with a thorough grooming routine and are particularly mindful of how you style your outfit for the day ahead but is oral health a higher enough priority? Do you brush for two minutes twice a day, religiously? You should.
Genuinely, this Philips DiamondClean Smart Toothbrush with connected app takes any inconsistencies out of the equation. Connected to your smartphone, the app helps you track and meet your oral-health goals. It gives you tips for improving your oral health, and handy reminders to floss, or brush more often.
Beyond these there is an alert if you’re pressing too hard- you might not notice when you brush too hard, but the toothbrush does. If you use too much pressure, the light ring on the bottom of the toothbrush will flash and remind you to ease off the pressure. You can even start taking better care of your trouble areas your dentist has pointed out. Highlight them on your in-app 3D mouth map, and it’ll remind you to pay extra attention to these areas.
Even the brush heads are smart with the smart technology in your brush head telling your toothbrush which one you’re using. Click on a gum-care brush head and your toothbrush automatically switches to the right setting and intensity, and will remind you when it’s time to replace your brush head through wear.
For those who are concerned with the aesthetics of their gadgets- the DiamondClean toothbrush is decidedly handsome with an award-winning design, a selection of colours including Lunar Blue and Cashmere Grey. And for those who travel, there’s two weeks of regular use from a full charge but if you run low on the move, the stylish USB travel case doubles as a charger.
After 7 days of use- the DiamondClean toothbrush has seriously left my manual toothbrush wanting. The DiamondClean toothbrush being connected to my smartphone has applied necessary pressure (excuse the pun) on me to up my oral game each time I brush. There’s no quick brushing when I’m tired or forgetting to floss after a night out, doing the right thing has become part of my routine. I’ll definitely be sticking with the DiamondClean toothbrush, and look forward to hearing my dentists’ thoughts at my next check up.
