Salvatore Ferragamo SS17 “Among Friends”
Shoes, leather goods, and ready-to-wear brand Salvatore Ferragamo have released its new Spring Summer 2017 campaign with a dreamy Mediterranean back drop forming the basis for a collection release, story and advertising campaign. Quite the cocktail and a smart way of conveying its latest offering.
Photographed by Peter Lindbergh and starring models Lily Aldridge, Andres Velencoso and McKenna Hellam, the portfolio was shot in Taormina, Sicily- a resort town perched on the Mediterranean.
The friendly trio are captured breezing along Taormina’s coast or meandering down its bougainvillea-lined paths. In one image, Andres, dressed in a cerulean blue shirt, rolled up at the sleeves, and cropped trou- sers in the same shade, moves across Taormina’s craggy rocks as the sky and sea almost merge into one.
Ferragamo tell us that each image is setup to portray the energy and ease as Taormina’s natural handsome canvas for the collections’ back drop and contemporary ready-to-wear style and accessories. It’s traditional Italian patrimony with a fresh viewpoint.
If this isn’t enough to convince you where your Spring Summer 2017 wardrobe should be heading then I don’t know what will. A seriously strong offering from Ferragamo, as always.
