“Today’s luxury is being, rather than having” -Enrique Loewe Lynch.
Madrid, Spain based Perfumes Loewe have a 168-year history in fine craftsmanship, experience which they have lent to their new fragrance; SOLO Loewe Cedro. The new creation is inspired wholly by wood, one of the planets finest raw materials.
This new Eau de Toilette’s love affair with wood is omnipresent- from the aroma, bottle, packaging and communication. Even the name; Cedro, is named after an elegant, aromatic wood, and favourite material in Spanish art and culture.
The fragrance itself is superb, opening with citrus notes of mandarin and petit grain which merge with spicy pink pepper and nutmeg. At the heart, moist chords of mate leaves, basil and lavender contrast with a woody base, rich in Virginia cedarwood, gayac wood and amber wood. There are certainly masculine undertones, but also- a surprising freshness, and nothing too heavy or overpowering- a fantastic balance.
The bottle is made from a blend of natural wood plates and stopper against the straight lines and round shapes of the original SOLO glass bottle. The detail does not stop there either- with a screen printed box having been created to resemble real wood.
