Agua Spa at Mondrian London

Agua Bathhouse and Spa, located within the Sanderson Group’s new London hotel provides a sleek subterranean escape for exhausted individuals, expertly imagined by British designer, Tom Dixon.

Agua’s modern reception area

The spa offers a variety of treatments tailored to both male and female clients and can be located under the Mondrian London’s lobby, accessed covertly by elevator. Once underground guests are greeted in the spacious spa reception – all rounded furnishings and atmospheric lighting. Comfortable changing room facilities beyond are stocked with Malin + Goetz products and provide digital-lock lockers, pressured rainforest showers, and a steam room for those looking to sweat out toxins further.

There’s much to choose from on the list of men’s treatments, but Ape to Gentleman opted for the Custom Guru Massage (from £85) and Scalp Booster (£20) during our visit. Combining techniques from shiatsu, deep-tissue, and sports therapy massage, the Custom Guru Massage addresses all concerns during the 50 to 80-minute slots available, complete with a bespoke massage oil blend to suit your taste.

The spa lounge

Post-session, guests can linger and listen to the trickle of water flowing through the spa’s large lounge area whilst sipping a cup of a fresh herbal tea of their choice; the perfect finale to their time here.

Deciding when to leave Agua is a difficult decision, with the return to the outside world a shock to the system. Fortunately there are plenty of treatments available for the male spa-enthusiast and a reason for visiting again isn’t hard to invent.

Modern, well conceived, and stylishly presented, Agua is one of the most refreshing spa’s we’ve seen in London for years. Be sure to visit when you’re in the city.
