Maximise Your Driving Style

Everyone has his or her own dream garage – when money is no object, which are the three cars you’d park in there? To help with the dilemma Ape’s car editor has rounded up three of the finest and most desirable new cars on sale today, alongside a few stylish accessories to maximise your driving style.

Ferrari 812 Superfast

Ferrari couldn’t have baptized its most recent new model with a more fitting name. The Superfast is one of the most powerful and exciting supercars to roll out of Maranello since Enzo opened the gates in 1939. It comes with a hefty price tag of £253,004, but brings with it serious performance; powered by a 789bhp 6.5-litre V12 engine, it covers 0-62mph in 2.9 seconds, before romping on to 211mph. It’s also dripping with Formula 1 technology such as active aerodynamics to maximize all of the performance.

Range Rover

There aren’t many cars that have a customer base which includes the Queen and Wayne Rooney, but the Range Rover is one of them – and for good reason. This titan of the SUV world is as good on road as it is off it, and has been ferrying celebs and royalty around for decades. The latest model is the most advanced yet, and even features a new fuel-sipping plug-in hybrid engine, which should be capable of returning 101mpg.

Porsche 911 GT3

It’s not the quickest or the most expensive, nor the most exotic car, but the Porsche 911 GT3 is one of the best sports cars there has ever been. It’s a racecar for the road and what makes it such a hit is its blend of lightweight body, rev-hungry 4.0-litre engine and scintillating performance. The engine in 911 GT3 may be in the wrong place (in the back) but Porsche has mastered the layout, and the 911 remains one of the world’s best selling sports cars. The latest GT3 is the best yet.

Accessories

A pair of driving gloves will help keep your hands warm and crucially here, gripped to the steering wheel too. Team with a classic pair of sunglasses for sunny weather and a pair of classic driving shoes for the ultimate feedback from the accelerator (and brake pedal).
