Ember Yard

Ember Yard is the fourth restaurant from the Salt Yard Group serving a mix of Spanish and Italian cuisine with specialist methods of cooking. The focused menu utilises primal cooking techniques made over wood and charcoal. Taken influence from travels around Spain and Italy – in particular the Basque country and Tuscany – the menu consists of artisan cheese and charcuterie, small plates for sharing as well as larger plates for sharing.

Located in the heart of Soho, London this lovely two storey restaurant includes a basement bar as well as an open plan kitchen. That allows for the wonderful aromas of what’s being cooked to find its way across the restaurant. Diners can select a tapas styled menu of small sharing plates – allowing for a nice variety of food and tasting. Menus are changed regularly in conjunction wit the seasons and allows the chefs to get inspired by new ingredients as they become available.

The staff are hospitable and welcoming, giving great recommendations suited to our taste interests – complimented with some exceptional wine. One of the stand out dishes is Ember Yard’s signature Courgette Flower Stuffed with Goat’s Cheese & Drizzled with Honey famous in the Iberia region of Spain. Other notable specialities include Chargrilled Ibérico Presa and Roasted with Whipped Jamón Butter and Chargrilled Ibérico Pork Ribs with Quince Glaze and Celeriac Purée. All the exquisite dishes are created by head chef Jacques Fouries who worked his was through the ranks at Salt Yard before moving over to Ember Yard once it launched. Deemed a natural fit, one of his biggest passions is cooking over wood and fire suiting both parties perfectly.

The downstairs bar takes centre stage where one can enjoy a good selection of classic cocktails. With numerous tables laid out all around the ground floor, the vibrant atmosphere picks up nicely as the evening goes on. A perfect fit for Soho, Ember Yard will give you an exciting culinary experience with the biggest challenge being deciding which specialities you choose.
