Louis Vuitton men's fragrance

In style and male grooming circles, many experts would say, “it’s about time”. The reason? Louis Vuitton have finally diversified their attention from ready-to-wear and leather accessories to men’s fragrance. Having devoted his first creations solely to women, Louis Vuitton’s Master Perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud has created a line of scents specifically for men. The theme is “instincts for freedom” and “pioneering sensibility”. There are five offerings in total at launch.

L’Immensité

L’Immensité blends the bitterness of grapefruit with ginger, labdanum and an overdose of ambroxan – sensual amber note.

Nouveau Monde

Nouveau Monde is composed around a natural cocoa – produced on the Ivory Coast and transformed in Grasse. The leathery scent of oud mingles with cocoa and incense, with a hint of energetic saffron.

Orage

Orage is a woody fragrance. A short, concentrated, concise composition which is associated with the elegance of iris with a patchouli heart.

Sur la Route

Sur la Route blends Calabrian citrus with a unique grade of cedar. A sharp note of lemon focuses on the sharpness of the pulp and the fruit. Cedar wood joins bergamot and a few blades of freshly cut grass that give the perfume its raw, green accent. Sur la Route also includes Peruvian balsam, which includes the freshness of citrus and spicy notes of pink peppercorn and nutmeg.

Au Hasard

Au Hasard elevates an exceptional sandalwood. Cultivated in Sri Lanka in keeping with sustainable development requirements, this wood contains all the qualities of the now-unattainable Indian sandalwood. The seed of ambrette, a delicate yellow flower that resembles a pansy, from whose tiny black seeds stems a perfume of pear liqueur and vegetal musk. On the skin, the spicy notes of cardamom and sandalwood, while the ambrette lends a fruity warmth.

The Bottle and Availability

The bottle was created by the designer Marc Newson, with a carefully shaded colour palette. On the cap atop of each bottle are two interlaced letters of the LV logo – engraved in cold galvanised metal. A nod to men’s leather goods and the barrel of a shotgun.

These men’s perfumes come in several formats, including a generous, refillable 200ml bottle as well as a 100ml size compatible with carry-on requirements. Each of these five fragrances for men is also available in a travel set that includes a black 7.5ml bottle and four magnetic, new-gen refills that clip into the spray bottle. The easy-to-use travel bottle is ideal for those regularly on the move.
