Nike x Undercover Gyakusou Spring 2014 Collection

Jun Takahashi and Nike have announced the release of their latest Gyakusou running collection, inspired by the struggle between body and mind. The range of high performance men’s and women’s running wear, is a combination of Nike’s technical innovation with Japanese designer Jun Takahashi’s cutting-edge eye for style.

For the Spring 2014 Collection Mr Takahashi focused on the struggle between joy and agony, elation and exhaustion, persistence and surrender – visually articulating this yin-yang with contrasting colors and materials. Technically, the collection employs Nike Sweat Map ventilation, and uses thermal body mapping – a diagnostic technique that charts changes in body temperature as a starting point, Nike Sweat Map ventilation combines an engineered jacquard weave with pinpoint laser perforations.

The collection’s footwear matches the yin-yang colour blocking on either side of the Lunar Speed AXL. The footwear’s dual-tone, lightweight, breathable mesh uppers are textured by a tonal python embossed leather, while the midsoles feature soft, yet responsive Lunarlon cushioning.
