Queen x Vilebrequin Swimwear

One of the world’s most legendary music groups? Definitely. And St Tropez’s finest export since Bridget Bardot? Also definitely. It was always the French exchange students in the corner screaming the words of We Will Rock You wasn’t it – all while doing that double clap salute. The French have perhaps been more into Queen that the Brits ever were. So it comes as no surprise that Vilebrequin have launched a beach-ready collection of shorts, T-shirts and bags to coincide with the new Queen movie, Bohemian Rhapsody.

As it happens, the movie is supposed to be pretty good. But it only lasts a couple of hours, whereas this new Queen x Vilebrequin collection will keep you going all summer long and beyond – perfect for your winter sun escape.

In a twist of fate, Queen’s first live gig took place in the summer of 1971, which is the same summer that Vilebrequin founders Fred and Yvette Prysquel debuted what would arguably become the world’s most iconic swim short brand.

Featuring two headline prints, Queen Tour and Joker Queen, this 14-piece capsule gives you the chance to don official tour and album artwork like never before – much better than your dad’s battered old band tee.

A tribute to the group’s legendary live performances, the range features stretch-fabric swimsuits, embroidered T-shirts and waterproof tote bags with posters and passes from the band’s early years. Rare illustrations and autographs from all four band members make each piece highly collectible.

Obviously, not everyone is into Queen – but we like what we’ve seen of this collection. As departed legend Freddie Mercury might say, “I want it all and I want it now”. The Queen collection is on sale at vilebrequin.com now.
