Founded in St-Tropez in the summer of 1971 by Fred Prysquel; Vilebrequin has been synonymous with the art of living in summer. Famed for its beachwear, today they have diversified into eyewear with a first collection of sunglasses.

The new collection bears signature Vilebrequin details- look for discreet ‘V’ rivets, bespoke eyelet details on temple tips, and crankshaft-inspired arms engraved with the message ‘Vilebrequin fondé à St-Tropez en 1971’.

Frames are handcrafted in acetate or metal and both are available in custom colours and combinations, all assembled with care by over 200 artisans. Vilebrequin partnered with the world’s leading lens manufacturer, Carl Zeiss, using Category 3 technology which offers anti-glare and UV-free technology. Available in mono, mirror or polarised options, Zeiss-certified lenses offer high-definition vision and protection.

Each of the 24 pieces are crafted with finest French-made spring hinges from ComoTech- adorned with Vilebrequin’s iconic turtle and 1971 references. Titanium nose pads bearing the Vilebrequin hallmark offer a seamless fit. A collapsible carry case folds down to save space and for travel. Rectangular or rounded shapes, aviator or racing influences, tortoiseshell or metal frames, mirror or mono lenses- there’s something for everyone, all carrying a common contemporary Riviera theme and Vilebrequin’s indelible style.
