Hair Transplant Review

FAQs

I’ve already had readers asking questions, so here are a few of my answer below- anonymously of course. Feel free to Contact Us with any questions.

Have you experienced any ‘shock loss’?

None to existing hair, the ‘new’ new hair yes but not in the middle.

When you would have been comfortable going back to work (i.e. when the redness etc had died down)?

The redness went after a week, but there were scabs for 2 weeks, so after they went.

Can I have details of redness/swelling/pimples etc?

Was pretty red for a week (donor site), forehead swelled and spread down my face (for a week) but wasn’t that noticeable, no pimples.

When did all the implanted hairs fell out (I believe that’s normal, a couple of weeks after or so?

Day 19 but not all of them.

The after-care routine, what was this like?

I slept up right for a week, no washing until 5th day where I used a cup and head and shoulders. Towel dried was okay after a month. It felt fine too i.e. wasn’t just allowed by the Drs.

Was the experience has been positive overall so far?

All good really, was tough the 3 days after being alone in my hotel in the US, rather have been in the UK and gone straight home the day of the ‘surgery’. But Dr Alexander is the best, so definitely worth it in my opinion. I’d have taken my girlfriend or Mum with me in hindsight, for moral support.

Have people noticed you’ve had ‘something done’?

No, but its not grown back yet. I doubt people will notice though.

Are you taking Propecia?

No, because I didn’t want to risk the side effects. Many men have success with it but like most drugs, even paracetamol, some have sides… it’s good to get blood tests and if you notice any symptoms… go straight to your GP, should you chose to take it.

Does Dr. Scott Alexander have a website?

Yes, he does- biltmorehairrestoration.com
